Adopter's Agreement
All rescue dogs are a runaway risk and should never be allowed off leash, especially during the first 30 days in a new environment. You must take extra precautions to prevent this dog from getting loose outside, running out an open door, or left unattended in any yard. Larger dogs have been known to tear fence pickets apart.
Do you agree to allow a home visit to meet the pet? It is important to see how the new pet reacts to the new home and if there is already a pet in the home, it is very important that the original pet receives the new pet with friendliness. We just want to make sure everyone is happy and the match is a good one.
I agree that the animal is being adopted for myself and will not be sold, adopted, or given to another party.
I agree that the animal will not be allowed outdoors without proper supervision and/or in a secured yard. When taking my dog outdoors, they will be on a secure harness and wear proper ID.
I agree that this dog is to be a companion animal, not a guard dog. The dog will live inside my home, not outdoors.
I agree to care for the animal in a humane manner and be a responsible animal guardian. This includes supplying adequate food, water, shelter, attention, and medical care.
I agree that if at any point I cannot keep the animal, I will return him/her to the original rescue without requesting a fee return if it's after the first two weeks of ownership.
I understand and agree that the current rescue makes no guarantees about the animal's temperament and is not responsible for future damages or injuries caused by the animal.
I give the current rescue permission to call my home at any reasonable time to assure that the animal is adjusting to its new home.

If dog has not been spayed/neutered prior to adoption, I agree to allow the dog to return to foster/ rescue once surgery appointment has been made. The dog shall go to original foster/rescue the night before surgery and returned to the new home the afternoon of surgery.
